I enjoyed my tour of Gunston Hall Plantation better than the tour that I got at Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. George Mason had more money than Washington, so it would make sense that his home would look nicer (although I think that it is smaller). I felt that the restoration was better for Gunston Hall than for Mount Vernon, although the latter gets way more visitors per year. The tour guide was excellent; I learned a lot of good information from her. The price of admission was reasonable, and you can save $1 per person by using the online coupon. They also have special events there, such as parties with live actors and food. Check it out!
