"Clever" is the word that perhaps describes me best (hear me out...). The professor who juggles half a dozen ideas for research papers and grant proposals in my mind while giving a highly entertaining lecture on an abstruse subject. (edit: I am not really a professor). I can also be funny, the comedian whose lampoons are not only funny, but incisively accurate (yes, I said "poon", lol).

I am verbally quick, and give a good debate. I also have a perverse sense of humor as well, and enjoy playing devil's advocate on occasion.

I admit I enjoy problem-solving and try not to outsmart myself. At heart I am basically an optimist. It's been said that I am extremely genial, even charming, when not being harassed by life in general.

I have a very small plot in a city garden. After giving this question a lot of thought, I have decided that words are incapable of defining the essence that is me. I value intelligence, smarts, and logic above all else and believe that those working in tune with our emotions and intuition are what separate us from all other creatures. Save of course for dolphins and field mice (Adams, 1979).

I'm smart and sassy. I am enthusiastic and well-mannered. I was born and grew up overseas, so sometimes I seem out of place. I moved to Virginia to go to school some years ago and I really like it here.

I travel like no other person ever. I try to go someplace as often as I can. I just do random trips, just to see another area of the country, meet new people, or go skiing.

Another nerdy thing about me is that I'm an eagle scout. It was hard to get, but the time I spent working on it gave me such an appreciation for the outdoors, and nature. Now, I'm a camping addict. I love to go and just sit out in the woods by a fire, or canoe down some river and set up camp on the riverside.

I'm 23, 6'3, new to the area, just graduated from the University of Florida, and currently working as a Financial Analyst in dc. I don't know a whole lot of people in the area yet, so was hoping this could speed things along. I like a lot of sports, but play golf, tennis, and soccer on a regular basis. As always this is a difficult question to answer. What do I say about myself? hrmmm? well I guess I am Just a fun all around kinda guy that is a big time gamer, go to the movies, read books, go out with friends, oh and of course being online. I would say that my life is pretty unique.

On a normal day, you can find me in the office dressed in one of my many incredibly, stylish yet sleek suits, working behind a computer "analyzing" whatever needs to be analyzed. On some days, I might take a 2 hour lunch. Sometimes, I also intentionally let the phone ring out without answering and listen to the message hours later! I even surf the internet on the company dollar! Yeah, I know, I'm out of control.

If it isn't blatantly obvious that I live a sweet and excruciatingly exciting professional life that anyone would be jealous of, I have yet another side of my life that remains dormant...dormant at least until at a moment's notice, when that call to duty comes and I'll have to drop that business suit like a bad habit, dawn the green Army suit, and defend America and her freedoms like it's nobody's business. You might consider paralleling this other side of my life to the old, "stop, drop, and roll" fire drill instructions instilled into our minds from our elementary years.

I'm kind of in that phase of my life right now. I've stopped, I've dropped, and now I'm rolling. The business suit is off, the green suit is on, and I'm knee deep in the fight. The whole green suiter thing is not so bad (though certainly not as sexy as the business suit -- actually, this point is debatable) but it makes it better to have people to talk to, random or familiar.

I learn more from conversations than books. Half the reason I want to be a doctor is that I'll be intimately exposed to a variety of personalities and experiences. Selfish, I know.

- I am Catholic in culture, but not so much in religion (I swear that makes sense).

Example, I always misspell "probably" "probley", so I just end using "most likely."

I am a geek. I'm a bit shy but dependable. Financially I'm a conservative, and politically a conservative libertarian, but I don't make too big of a deal about it. I like to play with arduinos, an open source hardware platform, when I'm at home. Gives me something to do.

I once had a conversation about the weather for 20 minutes at a local user group meeting, explaining how I can use weather data from the National Weather Service to control my house lights.

I have a tall and friendly cat named Harry. He uses me as a pillow at night, and I don't complain. He's one of the happiest kittys in the neighborhood. He's big and strong. He's friendly to most everyone in the neighborhood. When he stretches out, he goes from one side of the bed to the other, though he has his own bed next to mine. Normally he goes outside during the day, but today, I was sick, and he stayed inside and looked over me, and took a nap with me when I went upstairs to take a nap.

I like taking photos. I'm trying to become a professional photographer, but that's not my day job.

I moved to DC several years ago from Upstate NY. For those unfamiliar, we have two seasons up there: winter and construction. I teach high school math, and coach track and cross-country. I like to work out and I enjoy outdoor activities (running and biking being my favorites). I speak fluent sarcasm. I'm genuine and low-drama. I'm a terrible cook but a gifted eater. I also apparently enjoy filling in boxes the tell people about me.

Originally from NY, went to school at Maryland, and I've been living and working in Arlington for the past few years.

I feel like life is short so I try to stay as active as possible and surround myself with good people and good times. Some of my favorite activities are exercise, happy hours, concerts, and attending sporting events (especially if my NY or Terp teams are playing). Always looking for an excuse to do some sort of traveling and finding new places and adventures. In December I spent 12 days in Europe, and am eager to plan my next big trip. I consider myself motivated and my career is important to me, but I've always found that maintaining a balance between everything is the best way to be happy and stay sane.

I don't think I stole that quote from anywhere. It basically is how I've been feeling lately.

After a very long time of threatening to put something of worth in here, I realize why it took me this long in the first place. Laziness. And procrastination. And because I don't know how to talk about myself without sounding like an incredible douche. I mean, if *I* wouldn't want to get to know me from reading this, why would anyone else? So you can see the predicament...

So I don't know where to go from here... I'll keep the bit about being spontaneous from the old version, since it still applies. I've played a life-size game of RISK on the Navy Memorial, played bongos through the streets of DC as part of "Conga Line Tours", guided by my friend. I've not only run through much of DC in a checkpoint race to try not to get tagged by people, but I came back the next year to help work a checkpoint. Oh, and those things I've mentioned are all organized events in DC. I help out with those.

I'm always looking for something to make my life more interesting. My typical day, after work, usually involves muay thai kickboxing classes or something where I'm active to keep me from feeling completely useless. The rest of the evening is made up of me cooking dinner (I love to cook, consider myself a foodie) and unwinding on my couch, unless I've got better plans. Now that it's getting to be warmer, I can be found sitting outside, where I'm more than happy to relax for the evening and turn my brain off for a bit.

I suppose I could say I'm full of contrasts, but that just sounds so contrived. The quote at the top is about as clear as I can put it. I'll help start a giant pillow fight in Dupont Circle, then go home to help set up an investment portfolio for myself. I'm not necessarily one of THOSE types (whatever that would be) but it's the best example I could come up with.

I like to think of myself as an independent person. But all the same, I'd like someone I can spend some time with. As long as she doesn't freak out if we do our own separate things on a given night.

Most importantly, I would like to meet someone who's not afraid to try new things. To be willing to throw a few items into a car and go off somewhere for the weekend without thinking twice. We're all taking a chance by posting on this dumb little website. What's the difference between that and any other experience? I'd much rather spend an evening making fun of how awful something is: movie, meal, concert, whatever, than not trying it in the first place.

I don't know if that really allows you to figure out anything about me... I much rather speak to someone in, well... a real... conversation. I'm told people still have those. It's so much easier to get to know someone by talking in real time. So an email works, or whatever else. Need an ice breaker? Recommend a band to me I haven't heard of.

I'm a fun loving relaxed person who tries to have a light side to everything. I love being the 'funny girl' but have no problem sitting back and listening to someone. I love to go to random themed events. One picture is from an 80's coverband concert with some friends. Any excuse to dress up is amazing. Halloween is thus THE BEST holiday. When I get my mind set on something, I will keep going until it's accomplished.
I have a definite 5-10 year plan that is set out with certain boundries, that I totally expect to change within the next year. =)
I HATE scary movies, unless I already know the ending then I can find a way to make it through. I'm a sucker for cheap romances. I keep it to myself but I love a Miley Cyrus song. I have a secret (alright not so secret) love for rap music, which is horrible I know, but listen to everything else as well!
I love to work out but never have enough time to do it. I'm a work-a-holic some say, but I just have problems saying "no" other times. So to free myself of that I just quit my second job. So all of a sudden I have a ton of free time and not sure how to use it up. I love the skins, and love baseball but mainly follow the nats and cubbies.
