Arlington is home to over 500 individual artists and more than 50 arts organizations including theatre companies, artist studios, dance companies, and musical groups from balalaika to opera. From whimsical murals such as “Something Delicious” on Washington Blvd. to three stories of acrylic murals in Arlington County Government Offices to Scenes of Rosslyn in the Rosslyn metro station to the gigantic Cupid’s Garden sculpture and intricately etched glass panels of area bus shelters, art is everywhere in Arlington.

Arlington Arts Center is a contemporary visual arts center focused on bringing local artists and the public together through exhibitions and educations programs. An upper gallery showcases Linda Hesh’s controversial “Safe and Suspect” series. Over 1000 small drawing by Andy Moon depict a wide range of subjects, styles and ideas. The lower gallery hosts five different art venues, including Moncayo’s creative blend of sound and art and intriguing large sculptures. Thirty artists in 20 studios at Columbia Pike Artists Studios offer original oil and watercolor paintings, pastels, prints, drawing and sculptures. Eclipse Arts Center offers exhibits of visual artists, performance artists, playwrights, actors, writers, poets and musicians, who live, work, study or maintain studios in Arlington. The county is also a stone’s throw from endless art museums and national galleries across the Potomac River in the District of Columbia.
